School of the Arts is 0-4 against Eastridge since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Silverhawks will challenge the Lancers at 4:45 p.m.
On Friday, School of the Arts came up short against Greece Olympia and fell 6-2.
Henry Hawkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastridge). They blew past Edison Tech 10-2 on Monday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Inventors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Aaden Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Inglese, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evan Bishop, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Eastridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
School of the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Eastridge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
School of the Arts' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Silverhawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Eastridge, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will School of the Arts continue to outrun the ball?
School of the Arts suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Eastridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Silverhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
