Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo Pirates vs. New Glarus Glarner Knights

Waterloo is 1-9 against New Glarus since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Waterloo Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the New Glarus Glarner Knights at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Waterloo was beaten by Cambridge 86-42. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Bluejays are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-52, which was the final score in New Glarus' tilt against Marshall on Tuesday. The Glarner Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for New Glarus, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Waterloo might still be hurting after the 87-66 loss they got from New Glarus in their previous meeting back in January. Can Waterloo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
