Softball Game Preview: Houston Christian Mustangs vs. Kinkaid Falcons

The Houston Christian Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Kinkaid Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Houston Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rogers Heritage just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the War Eagles. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kinkaid and Episcopal, and Episcopal kept the tradition alive. The Falcons came up short against the Knights on Friday, falling 18-3. The Falcons have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Houston Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Kinkaid, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5-1.

Houston Christian couldn't quite finish off Kinkaid in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
