Volleyball Recap: Higley's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Higley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Queen Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Desert Ridge Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 24-26, 25-27, 27-25, 15-8.

Desert Ridge can attribute much of their success to Sophie Hooper, who had 18 assists and four aces. That's the most aces Hooper has posted since back in September. Bailey Demore was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

Higley's defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11-3. As for Desert Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Higley has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Highland on the 23rd. As for Desert Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Williams Field on the 23rd.
