Volleyball Recap: New Holstein Comes Up Short

New Holstein came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sheboygan Falls Falcons, falling 3-0. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

While New Holstein was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Sheboygan Falls' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-11, 25-12.

Makenna Bink paced New Holstein's offense, picking up four kills. Bink were helped by Makayla Meyer and Addison Haensgen, who contributed three assists each. Bink was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sheboygan Falls can attribute much of their success to Meygan Thelen, who had 13 digs and five assists. That's the most digs Thelen has posted over her last 12 matches.

New Holstein's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Sheboygan Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-18 record this season.

New Holstein has already played their next contest (against Howards Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sheboygan Falls, they will face off against Valders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
