Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity lost against Iraan back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chargers were dealt a 64-32 defeat at the hands of the Braves. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Grady Whytlaw, who posted seven points and four steals. Whytlaw is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Solis, who had nine points and five boards.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Iraan, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity will welcome Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iraan, they will face off against Buena Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
