Mukwonago came tearing into Saturday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Indian Trail Hawks.

The result came thanks to Ben Jones's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mukwonago let Tyler Smieska and Braedon Vogds run wild. Smieska went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Vogds went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most stolen bases Smieska has posted since back in April. Austin Arnold was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Mukwonago's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Mukwonago will challenge Oconomowoc at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indian Trail, they will take on Racine Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
