Baseball Recap: El Reno Wins Going Away Against Shawnee

After only one run in their last contest, El Reno made sure to put some runs up on the board against Shawnee on Friday. El Reno blew past Shawnee 12-6. Considering the Indians have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Blake Bailey, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dawson Davidson, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

El Reno is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 8-1-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs. Shawnee is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

El Reno and Shawnee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. El Reno will take on Newcastle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday down 86 places (88 vs. 2). Meanwhile, Shawnee (ranked 295th) will meet Chickasha (ranked 13th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
