Softball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Eastern Montgomery entered their tilt with Highland on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 12-1 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Macie Akers was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Rena Chandler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Eastern Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Eastern Montgomery is set to square off against their familiar foe Narrows at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Highland will challenge rival Craig County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
