Baseball Recap: Yucaipa Wins Going Away Against Redlands

Yucaipa owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Redlands Terriers. The Thunderbirds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2024 (when they won 17-8).

Yucaipa got a great performance from Zach Scribner as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Scribner has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jason Franco was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Heaton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Yucaipa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Yucaipa's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Redlands, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Yucaipa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Terriers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
