Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the E.D. White Cardinals, falling 13-4. If the Cubs were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for E.D. White, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Mt. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for E.D. White, they will face off against Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
