Volleyball Recap: Sarasota Christian Blazers vs. Out-of-Door Academy Thunder

After flying high against The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Tuesday, Sarasota Christian came back down to earth. The Blazers fell just short of the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Finley Markley paced Sarasota Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Markley got some help from Hannah Bryan and her 13 assists. Markley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Sarasota Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sarasota Christian and Out-of-Door Academy will both be playing Manatee the next time they take the court. The Thunder will head out to face the Hurricanes at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Blazers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
