Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Crooms Academy Panthers
There's no place like home for the First Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They secured a 68-63 W over Crooms Academy on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Crooms Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Aristile scored 26 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Aristile scored a full 41.3% of Crooms Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Elio Cestero, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
First Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Crooms Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Academy will challenge Geneva at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crooms Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully First Baptist Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
