Hayfield has gone a perfect 8-0 against Edison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Hayfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, Hayfield was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Vernon, taking the game 3-1. Given Hayfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Mount Vernon are ranked 311th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Edison didn't have quite enough to beat Annandale on Tuesday and fell 3-2. Edison haven't had much luck with Annandale recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Hayfield took their win against Edison when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
