Baseball Recap: Tippecanoe's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Tippecanoe managed to slip by Troy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils lost 11-4 to the Trojans on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Devils, who until this game were averaging three runs allowed.

Preston Zumwalt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tippecanoe's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-2. As for Troy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tippecanoe is set to square off against their familiar foe Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Devils 3, the Aviators 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Troy will challenge rival Piqua at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
