Volleyball Recap: Gulfport Falls Short Against Ranked Our Lady Academy

Gulfport faced Our Lady Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Admirals fell just short of the Crescents by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Admirals in their meetings with the Crescents: they've now lost five in a row.

Harper Keogh paced Gulfport's offense, picking up 12 kills. Keogh got some help from Olivia Hairston and her 11 assists. Sydney Allen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Gulfport's loss dropped their record down to 22-13. As for Our Lady Academy, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 32-3.

Gulfport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Biloxi on the 23rd. As for Our Lady Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against George County on the 20th.
