Basketball Recap: Marshall Extends Winning Streak to Four

Marshall had won three straight games and Chloe Johnson did her part to make it four on Wednesday. The Marshall Hilltoppers secured a 69-65 W over the Proctor Rails thanks in part to Johnson, who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards. Her evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Marshall is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.2 points per game. As for Proctor, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 18-2 record.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-74 win against Kelliher/Northome on the 25th. As for Proctor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-37 victory against Grand Rapids on the 23rd.
