Softball Recap: Spearville's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Spearville took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Skyline, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lancers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thunderbirds on Thursday, sneaking past 10-8. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Thunderbirds on Thursday, they had to take a 14-4 defeat.

Madison McGee was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 contests. Morghyn Rucker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spearville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Spearville's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-6. As for Skyline, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Spearville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-6 victory against Stanton County on the 12th. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
