Basketball Recap: The Daniel Academy Skates Past Veritas Christian with Ease

The Daniel Academy won against Midland Adventist Academy on Tuesday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Lions really took it to the Veritas Christian Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-17 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-8.

The Daniel Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Rose out in front who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Rose a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Maldinado, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 steals.

The Daniel Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

The Daniel Academy and Veritas Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Lions see the court they'll take on Kansas School for the Deaf at 7:45 p.m. on December 2. As for Veritas Christian, their break will end when they face Cornerstone Family at 6:00 p.m. on December 4.
