Basketball Recap: Tiffany Gaona's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Noble Street College Prep over Mansueto

Noble Street College Prep lost against Mansueto back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Noble Street College Prep Golden Tigers fell 36-28 to the Mansueto Leopards. The Golden Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noble Street College Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tiffany Gaona, who posted five points and nine rebounds. Gaona is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Ariana Bahena was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Noble Street College Prep's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Mansueto, their record now sits at 3-1.

Noble Street College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Golder at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Both have allowed few points on average, (Noble Street College Prep: 25.6, Golder: 26.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Mansueto will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Baker at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Mansueto's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Baker's offense will have their work cut out for them.
