Cabell Midland can attribute much of their success to Carley Brewster, who had 14 digs and three aces, and Jaycee Bowen, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most digs Brewster has posted over her last nine matches.
They weren't the only good servers: Cabell Midland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley faced Woodrow Wilson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Timberwolves had just enough and edged out the Flying Eagles 2-1.

Cabell Midland better focus on containing Addison Bailey and Addi Kilgore as the pair were huge in Spring Valley's win. Bailey had nine digs and one assist, while Kilgore had ten assists and five digs.
Cabell Midland's win bumped their record up to 25-4-1. As for Spring Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 26-9-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Cabell Midland has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Spring Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
