Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Combine Academy National). They put the hurt on the Phoenix Montessori Academy Firebirds with a sharp 89-63 victory on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Goats.

Despite the loss, Phoenix Montessori Academy still got an impressive performance from Malik McCotter, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 21 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrion Ellis, who shot 42% from the field en route to 11 points.

The win got Combine Academy National back to even at 2-2. As for Phoenix Montessori Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Combine Academy National will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Webb at 9:00 p.m. on December 12. As for Phoenix Montessori Academy, they will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
