Softball Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short

After flying high against McCreary Central on Thursday, Wayne County came back down to earth. The Cardinals came up short against the Cumberland County Panthers on Tuesday, falling 9-2. The Cardinals have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Wayne County now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Cumberland County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Wayne County will square off against Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cumberland County, they will challenge Adair County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
