Baseball Game Preview: Everett Alvarez Eagles vs. Palma Chieftains

Everett Alvarez is 0-3 against Palma since February of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Everett Alvarez's offense. They lost 8-0 to Alisal on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Monterey on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Chieftains, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Rocchi and Rocco Razzeca did most of the damage at the plate: Rocchi went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Razzeca went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Razzeca has become a key player for Palma: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Palma's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Everett Alvarez couldn't quite finish off Palma when the teams last played back in March of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
