Baseball Recap: Ames Comes Up Short

Ames was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Roosevelt Riders. The Little Cyclones were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2025.

Ames' loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Roosevelt beat Ames by a score of 9-2 later that day.
