Softball Recap: Cherokee Takes a Loss

Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Shoals Christian Flame. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flame apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cherokee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Libby Collum, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Collum a new career-high in doubles.

Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Shoals Christian, their record is now 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherokee will square off against Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shoals Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Covenant Christian at 4:00 p.m.
