Baseball Recap: Nordonia Knights vs. Chardon Hilltoppers
Nordonia had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-13 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Chardon Hilltoppers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Knights not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 17-0).
Not much got past Jacob Griffith, who gave up just three hits to keep Chardon off the board.

At the plate, Nordonia let Justin Smigel and Andrew McClelland run wild. Smigel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while McClelland got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave McClelland a new career-high.
As for Chardon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-10 record. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.
On Chardon's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Buth, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nordonia will square off against Highland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chardon, they will face off against Holy Name at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
