            Softball Recap: New Richmond Lions vs. Batavia Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            New Richmond entered their tilt with Batavia on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bulldogs 13-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  23-3  on April 9th.
 Izzie Carroll was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Piper Willis, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs and four  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Isabelle Rae Hartigan was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with four  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.

 New Richmond  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits every time they've taken the field this season.
New Richmond's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-3. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Batavia,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-10.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Richmond will take on Clermont Northeastern at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Batavia, they will square off against Wyoming at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
