Basketball Recap: Lindblom Comes Up Short

Lindblom lost against Simeon back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lindblom Eagles fell 61-48 to the Simeon Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Wolverines are ranked 29th).

Despite the loss, Lindblom still got an impressive performance from William Occomy, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 25 points and five boards. Those five rebounds gave Occomy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Omari Kamal, who posted eight points.

Lindblom's record is now 6-11. As for Simeon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Lindblom will face off against New Standard Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. As for Simeon, they will challenge Crete-Monee at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
