Bri'ann Felix leads Copper Canyon to victory over Washington

Recap: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Washington Rams

The Copper Canyon Aztecs won the last time they faced the Washington Rams, and things went their way on Thursday too. Copper Canyon snuck past Washington with a 51-47 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Copper Canyon.

Bri'ann Felix continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmin Colter, who scored two points along with 19 rebounds and two steals.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Channel Ochoa, who scored 12 points. Amaya Yazzie was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Copper Canyon's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Copper Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kofa at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Kofa is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Washington will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Independence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
