Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. New Albany Eagles

Lincoln hasn't had much luck against New Albany recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will welcome the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Central Crossing, taking the game 6-2.

Jack Baker looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

On the hitting side, Cam Lawrence was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Farris, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, New Albany didn't have quite enough to beat Grove City on Wednesday and fell 7-5. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost seven in a row.

New Albany now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
