Football Game Preview: Cedar Crest Falcons vs. Hempfield Black Knights

The Cedar Crest Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Hempfield Black Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cedar Crest took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past J.P. McCaskey, posting a 48-6 win. That looming 48-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Meanwhile, Hempfield hadn't done well against Exeter Township recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Black Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 30-28.

The victory got Cedar Crest back to even at 4-4. As for Hempfield, the win also got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything went Cedar Crest's way against Hempfield when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Cedar Crest made off with a 49-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
