Basketball Game Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Millard South Patriots

A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The Millard North Mustangs will host the Millard South Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Tuesday, Millard North strolled past Columbus with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Discoverers are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Millard South's match on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Lincoln East. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Millard North pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Millard South, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Millard North was able to grind out a solid victory over Millard South in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 56-48. Will Millard North repeat their success, or does Millard South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
