Basketball Game Preview: Rural Special Rebels vs. West Side Eagles

Rural Special hasn't had much luck against West Side recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rural Special Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the West Side Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Rural Special narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Timbo 46-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Meanwhile, West Side had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 58-30 win over the Longhorns.

Rural Special has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for West Side, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.

Rural Special beat West Side 72-62 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rural Special since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
