Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Bears vs. Freedom Patriots

Cypress Creek and Freedom are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. Cypress Creek will venture away from home to challenge Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Cypress Creek has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Cypress Creek didn't have quite enough to beat South Broward and fell 5-4.

Roger Silva was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Silva was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jesus Barreto was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Aaron Camacaro was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Freedom came up short against Edgewater last Friday and fell 6-3.

Cypress Creek dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
