Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Latino College Preparatory Academy

Latino College Preparatory Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Luis Valdez Leadership Academy Lions with a sharp 17-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

YADIRA ADAME made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. ADAME was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, YARED BANUELOS was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. YULISSA HERNANDEZ was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

Latino College Preparatory Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Latino College Preparatory Academy pushed their record up to 1-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Latino College Preparatory Academy and Luis Valdez Leadership Academy will both be playing El Primero the next time they take the field. The Golden Eagles will head out to face the Lobos at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on the 16th.
