The home team had won the previous five meetings between Christ the King and Lincoln Charter, and Christ the King kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Eagles 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Crusaders: when they faced off against the Eagles on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

The team relied heavily on Owen Shipman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. James Phillips also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Christ the King is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Charter, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 18-5.

Christ the King and Lincoln Charter should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 131st) will meet Langtree Charter Academy (ranked 275th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Charter will take on Community School of Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (36 vs. 163).
