Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Rangers vs. Pecos Eagles

The Greenwood Rangers will challenge the Pecos Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Greenwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Greenwood didn't have quite enough to beat Monahans and fell 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by exactly two runs.

Greenwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brissa Galindo, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 15-8 to Fort Stockton.

Ciarra S made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Carriz Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Greenwood now has a losing record of 13-14-1. As for Pecos, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

Greenwood's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Rangers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Pecos, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Greenwood continue to outrun the ball?

Greenwood skirted past Pecos 10-9 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
