Volleyball Recap: Yelm Tornados vs. Bonney Lake Panthers

Yelm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Bonney Lake Panthers.

Yelm was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bonney Lake work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, 28-26.

Lilly Grant paced Yelm's offense, picking up 14 kills. Grant got some help from Ellie Sloan and her 32 assists. Layah Hicks controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Emilee Martinez was the offensive standout of the match as she had 16 digs and two aces. Those two aces gave her a new career-high.

Yelm's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Bonney Lake, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.

After both having extra time off, Yelm and Curtis will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Curtis will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Yelm surely won't give up without a fight. Bonney Lake has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Bethel on the 25th.
