Volleyball Recap: Bob Jones Falls Short Against Ranked Hazel Green

Bob Jones faced Hazel Green in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Bob Jones took Hazel Green into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 20-25, 20-25, 15-8.

Bob Jones lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Morgan Cooper, who had eight digs.

Bob Jones has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 36-14 record this season. As for Hazel Green, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 30-10 record this season.

Bob Jones wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Spain Park on the 8th. Hazel Green does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
