Fountain Valley took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Huntington Beach, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Fountain Valley skirted past Huntington Beach 2-0. The win was nothing new for the Barons as they're now sitting on three straight.

The result came thanks to Courtney Kols's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Kim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Andrea Maldonado also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Fountain Valley's record now sits at 8-5. As for Huntington Beach, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.
