Trinity Christian Academy is a perfect 9-0 against Fayette Academy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lions will welcome the Vikings at 6:25 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jackson South Side hit Trinity Christian Academy with a seven-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 10-4 to the Hawks.

Nolan Baker was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Owen Atwood and Max Richardson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Atwood went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Richardson went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Landan Smyth also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Fayette Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to Covington, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Fayette Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jared Ferge, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Fayette Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14-1 record this season.

Trinity Christian Academy skirted past Fayette Academy 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
