Baseball Recap: Ben Davis Giants vs. North Central Panthers
Ben Davis extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-15. They lost 15-4 to the North Central Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Giants of the 13-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6. Considering they have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For North Central's part, Calvin Nelson looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave Nelson a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Grant Trisler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Jaynes, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
While Ben Davis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
