Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Marcos walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 victory over the Harlingen Cardinals on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Rattlers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Ezra Tobias went supernova for San Marcos, putting up 14 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Rileigh Good was another key player, earning 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

San Marcos smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

San Marcos' victory bumped their record up to 26-8. As for Harlingen, their loss dropped their record down to 29-8.

Looking ahead, San Marcos will square off against Vandegrift at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. San Marcos knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Vandegrift likes a good challenge. Harlingen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
