Softball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles vs. Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles

Calvary Chapel Academy will face off against Central Florida Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Calvary Chapel Academy and four for Central Florida Christian Academy.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Calvary Chapel Academy took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Academy. That's two games in a row now that Calvary Chapel Academy has lost by exactly five runs.

Alexis Withers was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Lilian Stuart was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Amberly Ramos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Central Florida Christian Academy lost 21-11 to Oasis Christian on Tuesday.

Central Florida Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Elisabeth Brenyo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Brenyo has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Ingram, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Central Florida Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Calvary Chapel Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Central Florida Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Calvary Chapel Academy's way against Central Florida Christian Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Calvary Chapel Academy made off with a 22-2 win.
