Volleyball Recap: Griswold Wolverines vs. Waterford Lancers

Griswold dropped to 9-6 on Friday, ending the team's five-match streak of wins at home. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waterford Lancers. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Rebecca Marsh paced Griswold's offense, picking up ten kills. Marsh got some help from Bella Bruno and her 20 assists. Bruno was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

As for Waterford, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. The win was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waterford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Hume, who had 16 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave Hume a new career-high. Reese Firmin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Coming up, Griswold will head out on the road to take on Law at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterford, they will welcome Guilford at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
