Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Rams vs. Murphysboro Red Devils

Mt. Vernon hasn't had much luck against Murphysboro recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rams will host the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Mt. Vernon turned things around against Mt. Carmel on Monday. They came out on top against the Golden Aces by a score of 2-0.

Mt. Vernon never let Mt. Carmel on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Murphysboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Herrin on Tuesday.

Murphysboro easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14.

Murphysboro's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Mt. Vernon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
