Softball Recap: Comfort Bobcats/Deer vs. Hondo Owls
After flying high against Bandera last Tuesday, Comfort came back down to earth. The Comfort Bobcats/Deer fell just short of the Hondo Owls by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
Comfort saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taygan Rust, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Kippy Sterling, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Comfort's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hondo, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-6.
Looking ahead, Comfort will host Lytle at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Lytle knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Comfort likes a good challenge. As for Hondo, they will challenge Natalia at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Hondo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
