Baseball Recap: Lamar Has No Trouble Against Heritage Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lamar had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Heritage Academy Patriots 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Luke Brady was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Herrington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lamar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in five consecutive games.

Lamar's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-6-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-17-1.

As of now, neither Lamar nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
