Football Recap: St. Charles Takes a Loss

St. Charles lost against Holt back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates had to suffer through a 49-8 loss at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Indians are ranked 121st).

Ivan Dean had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 158 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 58 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes for Holt. Dean really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Charles and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Holt, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, St. Charles will head out to take on Orchard Farm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Holt, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
